Maison Brotte
Chateauneauf du Pape, France
Fifth-generation Rhône family blending heritage with innovation. Sustainable vineyards and modern cellars produce silky, generous wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Gigondas.
Maison Brotte is a renowned fifth-generation family producer in Châteauneuf du Pape with a portfolio that captures the diversity of the Rhône Valley.
The Brotte name has been ever-present in the Rhône since 1880; the Maison was established by Charles Brotte in 1931.
Today, Laurent and Christine Brotte run the business with their sons Thibault and Benoît—the fifth generation—who joined in 2015 to work in the Commercial and Winemaking teams respectively.
The Brotte Family owns three domaines: Domaine Grosset in Cairanne, Château de Bord in Laudun, and Domaine Barville in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
They also source fruit from across key appellations including Crozes-Hermitage, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras.
Their vineyards use viti-pastoralism, where livestock graze between the vines to enrich soil and encourage biodiversity. All estates hold HVE certification and are transitioning to organic practices.
In the winery, a combination of concrete, amphora, oak, and stainless steel preserves fruit purity and texture. The whites are generous yet fresh, while the reds show a distinctive silkiness and depth.
