Le Grand Domaine fills the Stellenbosch shaped space in our portfolio’ with small batch focus and strong vineyard intent. The winery sits high in Devon Valley with sweeping views of the mountains. Soils are dark red and iron rich with decomposed shale and significant clay, giving reliable water holding and steady ripening.
The site suits Bordeaux varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Winemaker Debbie Thompson joined in 2020 after two decades at Simonsig and brings award winning red wine expertise. Viticulturist Deon Joubert drives careful, sustainable farming across key blocks.
