Champagne Mandois

Champagne, France

Ninth generation Champagne house with a strong winegrowing identity and one of the region's largest certified organic estates.

In contrast to some of their illustrious neighbours, there is an endearing humility to Champagne Mandois. But don’t let this deceive you, as their distinctive sparkling wines have the vitality and personality to rival anyone.

Over nine generations, the Mandois family has gone from tending vines as early as 1735, to becoming one of the leading organic growers in the region. It was in 1860, under the direction of visionary Victor Mandois, that they moved into winemaking. Victor’s ethos of ‘tradition in constant evolution‘ is celebrated in two outstanding cuvées that bear his name.

Today, Claude Mandois is at the helm. His passion for natural viticulture set them on a quiet revolution to organic conversion and today 32.5 of their 37 hectares of vineyard are certified.

The house and recently renovated winery are based in the charming village of Pierry, at the start of the Côte des Blancs. They source exceptional fruit from across these famous chalk hillsides, the Coteaux de Sézanne and the Côte des Bar. These include the renowned villages and prestigious terroirs of Chouilly, Pierry, Vertus and Épernay.

Mandois employs extended lees ageing and delicate dosage, crafting wines of remarkable complexity and enduring character. Their patience and conviction create champagnes with a crystalline house style that stands out in a competitive market.
