Portas, Spain

Galician growers crafting expressive Albariño with Altantic freshness, plus organic Monastrell from Jumilla. Long Wines’ Melea celebrates bees, sustainability and eco-friendly Stone Paper labels.

Viña Almirante brings together 80 growers across Galicia, working collectively to preserve the region’s long tradition of expressive, Atlantic influenced wines. Based in the lush valleys of Rias Baixas, the cooperative harnesses the area’s cool climate and granite soils to produce vibrant, saline styles that speak clearly of place.

Their Albariño Vanidade shows citrus, stone fruit and natural freshness, with added texture from winemaker Rafael Fraga’s cryo maceration technique. The collective also cultivates rare native grapes like Caiño Blanco, while in nearby Jumilla they partner with growers producing organic Monastrell that thrives in the region’s warm, dry climate.
