Purpose before profit
Our Impact
We’re trying to build a business that works better for our people and the planet – and we’re using the best frameworks available to make sure we deliver on that promise.
That’s why we set our sights on B Corp in 2021. It has given us the roadmap for continual improvement, that is still a core element of our approach following certification in 2023. We’ve since added ISO 14001 certification, which formalises our commitment to sustainable practices across our supply chain and operations. These aren’t certificates to hang on the office wall; they’re tools that help us stay accountable, set meaningful targets, and identify where we need to improve.
We source wines from around the world, and with that comes responsibility – to our producers, our customers, our team, and the environment.
Our B Corp journey
The UK’s first B Corp wine importer
In April 2023 we achieved B Corp certification, joining over 9,000 companies across the globe using business as a force for good.
In doing so, we became the UK’s first B Corp wine distributor, with a score of 88.5.
The rigorous certification process addressed the entirety of our business’ operations covering the five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.
When we recertify in 2027, we will have to meet strengthened performance standards across seven Impact Topics:
Purpose & Stakeholder Governance
Climate Action
Human Rights
Fair Work
Environmental Stewardship & Circularity
Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Government Affairs & Collective Action
Our annual Impact Report is a summary of our wins, our shortfalls and our works-in-progress – a vital part of our commitment to transparency as we work to drive change in our industry.

A Sustainable Approach
5 areas of impact
We consider three key areas when it comes to the environment – our own operations, our products, and our suppliers – to ensure we address the full impact of our supply chain.
Since we source products globally, the way they are grown, made, packaged, and shipped, along with the social impact of these activities, is a major focus for us.
Our supply and service partners are essential to our success on the sustainability journey. We are committed to working with them to ensure a positive impact and drive meaningful change.
Feedback from stakeholders is crucial for our ongoing improvement. As a company championing better business in wine distribution, we encourage dialogue through our annual Supplier Satisfaction Survey. This allows suppliers to highlight our strengths and offer suggestions for how we can work better together toward our shared goals.
Every member of the NSW team plays a vital part in ensuring our customers have the best possible offering. It’s all about working together – from sales and logistics ensuring perfect delivery, to technical and sustainability teams driving quality and insight.
Delivering excellent service, top-quality products, and maintaining transparency are at the heart of how we work with customers, whatever their size.
The wine industry faces constant change, from duty changes to logistics challenges. Our focus is always on open, honest communication that allows us to act quickly, stay ahead of the curve, and build long-standing relationships that help drive business forward for everyone.
We are dedicated to ensuring our team is the happiest and best they can be. Through our worker surveys, robust policies and benefits, and the supportive culture of the business, we strive to give every single person the opportunity to learn, progress, and flourish.
Driven by our commitment to “doing better,” we wanted to maximise our social impact rather than spreading our efforts too widely. Following a B Local session in 2023, our team made the strategic decision to transition from supporting different charities annually to partnering with one organisation for the long-term.
After researching local groups aligned with our values, we chose Restore, an outstanding mental health charity in Oxfordshire. Since 2024, the whole team has participated in fundraising, volunteering, and specialised training with them. We are excited to continue building this significant partnership for the long term.
